Happy New Year to you and your families from our AAM family!!

May this year bring you lots of love, health, success, amazing adventures and everything that you wish for!! If you know what it is exactly that you wish for.. Which brings us to the topic of this discussion – GOALS!

This is the time when everyone is setting their resolutions for the new year ahead. So, in order to successfully implement the strategies and achieve your goals, you need to know how to proficiently set out and compose your goals. From years of working with our amazingly wise trainer and mentor Sohial Farzam, our students have learnt an abundance of knowledge on this topic in our Positive Mindset module of the Comprehensive Model Course. We thought we would share with you some of the fundamental techniques and concepts of how to chase your dreams!

You may have heard the phrase “if you don’t plan, you plan to fail”, and planning starts with your goals. Personal and professional. Most people don’t set goals as they are afraid they will fail. Some, don’t really know what they want; they just tend to drift and see what life brings them; others are go getters, they know exactly what they want and they work hard to attain it.

So, let’s start with the basics, what is it that you want? Be authentic in your answer. If you are not sure, and it may be hard to know what you want with all the social influencing in our digitally advanced world that we live in, so take some time out. Clear your head and have a few moments to yourself to understand what you personally want. Then you can make strategic goals based on that and what you want to achieve.

Here are our tips to help you maximise your chances to successfully accomplish your goals:
–    Write your goals down! This increases your chances of achieving them by 10 times! By physically writing them down on paper, you are letting your brain know what you want and what to prioritise.
–    Put down specific time frames and specific achievements
–    Write your goals in present tense
–    Be realistic, but don’t make the mistake of making your goals too small as you know they will be more achievable
–    Make your goals powerful! Inspire yourself! It is also ok to freak out about your goals!

Start fantasising about your goals to motivate your brain, and restructure the thinking process. William James, philosopher and psychologist, said “Believe, and the belief will create the fact”.

So, if you are not happy with your current results, you need to change your current habits. Comfort is the enemy of success. Do not be afraid to fail, as you will not fail until you quit! Concentrate on your vision, as it will override your fears. You have to get started somewhere, so why not today and why not with your authentic self?
