This week I want to touch on a super important topic – confidence! Confidence is a strong component of personal life and career. So much depends on our self-confidence – what we do in life, how we feel about ourselves, our relationships, our life choices, career goals, personal achievements, and so much more!
So, what really is confidence? Why is it constantly declining? How do we get it back?
You are born with confidence, creativity and endless imagination however depending on the context of your up-bringing, your confidence and creativity can be impeded by your family, teachers and guardians. This is mostly an innocent action or inaction on their behalf because they too have a story and an upbringing. The worst thing you can do is to blame them or others. Rather, take responsibility and accountability of your own life, learn more, become more and be humble and grateful. In fact, by the time you reach 18 years of age, studies show, you’ve been told ‘NO’ 145,000 times. Do you think this will have some impact on your confidence?
Don’t wait for reasons for you to feel confident. Just decide you want to be and have confidence. When you are living and aligned to your higher self, your values, your ideals; then you will live with integrity and you will have confidence.
Confidence is also measured with competence. Become more competent in specific areas of your life and you will naturally become more confident. Don’t compare yourself to others because you will naturally minimize yourself in comparison to them, and you will lose your confidence.
3 things break down your confidence:
• doubt and fear – don’t let time come in the way of your actions. Action breeds confidence and courage, no action breeds doubt and uncertainty
• Guilt and unworthiness – to compensate for holding onto guilt, you will give more to others and less to yourself, this will build resentment and you will lose confidence and feel unworthiness
• Inferiority and inadequacy – you are not inferior to anyone else as you have your own gifts in your own way. There is no one else like you, so no reason to compare yourself
This is a huge topic and we thoroughly discuss this in our mindset class with our trainer Dr Sohial Farzam in the Comprehensive Model Course and the Online Model Course. But we have also included a speak peak video from the training, that (you can watch by clicking the link below) and gave you some insider tips in this blog. Hope you take this on board and start empowering others around you.
