The short answer would be – no, technically you do not need to do professional training to become a model. While modelling courses can be helpful, they’re definitely not a requirement to kick-start your modelling career! Many amazing models have made it big without any formal training.
You can start out on your own. You may begin by applying to modelling agencies, or may choose to freelance. You can do all the research by yourself and practice learning the new skills.
That being said, if you want someone to guide you and support you through this competitive industry a modelling course can give you a distinctive head start. Our most popular course is the Comprehensive Model Course, which teaches all the essential modelling skills such as runway, editorial and portfolio building, as well as marketing strategies, finance, and networking. We also connect you with industry professionals throughout the training and afterwards, by applying to modelling agencies on your behalf and sharing many modelling opportunities for castings and jobs. This course has a strong focus on confidence building and personal development, which is crucial to mentally prepare you for the industry and set you up for success.
So, while it’s not mandatory, a modelling course can definitely open doors and give you a competitive edge in this exciting industry. If you’re serious about pursuing a modelling career, why not explore some reputable courses and see if they’re the right fit for you?
Remember, the most important thing is to believe in yourself and go for it! We are here to guide you and support you throughout your modelling journey.
